Descente de la Tsiribihina
We spent two days on a chaland (a transport barge) which was converted to take tourists. The Tsiribihina is the highway in this part of Madagascar. There were chalands and pirogues everywhere. On the riverbank we saw plots of rice, people catching crayfish, panning for gold, bathing and washing clothes. We camped on the shore each night, but ate all our meals on the boat. We saw crocodiles, lemurs and lots of baobab trees.
